<strong>Job Description And Duties<br><br></strong>Under the general direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the Cloud Data Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, administration, and optimization of our organization's cloud infrastructure on DIR's Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The incumbent will work on projects to ingest, store, process, analyze, explore, and visualize data on Google Cloud Platform and will work closely with other teams to ensure smooth operation, security and scalability of DIR's GCP Platform.<br><br>The incumbent shall keep up to date with emerging trends and best practices in the technology and communications industries and evaluate their potential impact on the organization's IT strategy and implementation. The office is climate-controlled with natural and artificial light. The incumbent will utilize the computer daily. DIR is currently in a hybrid telework schedule and Incumbent will be required to work on site two days a week. The incumbent will be a participant in meetings in both physical and virtual locations. E.g. conference rooms and offices, and WebEx and Zoom teleconferences.<br><br><strong>Special Requirements<br><br></strong>Please include a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) that answers the following questions below. Your response should be typed in Arial 12 point font single spaced and no more than two pages in length. Have you used any cloud-native data modeling tools or services? If so, describe your experience in modeling data elements and how they relate. b) You will be creating data visualizations, such as Looker dashboards using LookML. Describe your experience with Looker or similar data visualization tools. Provide an example of a time you used data visualization to both explore data and communicate insights. What was the context, what tools did you use, and how did your visualizations contribute to both discovery and understanding? c) Describe your experience designing, building, and deploying optimized data pipelines for ETL processes. Provide a specific example of a pipeline you developed, detailing the data sources, target storage systems, tools used, and optimization techniques employed. How did you ensure the pipeline's performance and scalability? d) How do you approach data quality and data governance in a cloud environment?
