Sales Associate – VFA Gallery (SoHo, NYC)VFA Gallery is dedicated to showcasing the next generation of groundbreaking artists while honoring the lasting influence of modern visionaries. Our curated program appeals to seasoned collectors and the global art community alike, serving as a vibrant space where innovation sparks dialogue, connection, and opportunity.We are a fast-growing gallery seeking a highly motivated Sales Associate with a proven track record in the art world. This is a role for a confident closer—someone who not only builds relationships but consistently converts them into sales.Responsibilities:Proactively sell and close deals with new and existing collectorsGive engaging gallery tours, presentations, and client walkthroughs—strong storytelling is essentialCultivate, maintain, and expand relationships with collectors, curators, and artistsDevelop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue goalsMaintain and organize client lists (walk-ins, prospects, and existing clients) in a structured, trackable systemDiligently follow up with prospects via email, phone, and in-person to move deals forwardKeep detailed records of client communications, sales activity, and inventoryConfidently engage with walk-ins and provide tailored, high-touch client experiencesStay informed on contemporary and blue-chip art trends and the international art marketRepresent the gallery at all openings, art fairs, and events—mandatory attendance. Must be actively engaged, client-facing, and helpful with logistics, setup, and support before, during, and after events.Work independently with discipline, initiative, and professionalism in a high-end gallery environmentQualifications:Minimum 5+ years of experience in the art world, with a proven history of closing sales in a gallery, auction house, or advisory settingExisting client book / collector network strongly preferredOutstanding communication, presentation, and relationship-building skillsHighly organized and detail-oriented with strong pipeline management and follow-up disciplinePolished, presentable, and confident engaging with high-net-worth collectorsDeep knowledge of modern, contemporary, and blue-chip artAbility to work weekdays and weekends (11am–7pm), as well as all gallery eventsProficient with Gmail, Google Drive, Excel, Canva; familiarity with Art Galleria, Artsy, and Artnet is a plusEntrepreneurial, proactive, and results-driven with the ability to work independentlyCompensation:Hourly wage plus commission on salesSignificant growth opportunities—high performers will have the chance to advance as the gallery continues to expandWe are looking to fill this role ASAP.
