Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to designated locations while adhering to all applicable traffic regulations and safety protocols.

Main Responsibilities

Safe Delivery of Goods: Ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods to their intended destinations, taking into account road conditions, traffic patterns, and weather forecasts as necessary.

Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to identify and address any mechanical issues that may impact its safety or performance.

Maintenance of Records: Accurately record mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery schedules to optimize route efficiency and accountability.

Effective Communication: Communicate regularly with dispatchers and clients to provide updates on delivery status and resolve any potential issues in a timely manner.

Route Optimization: Stay informed about road conditions, traffic patterns, and weather forecasts to adjust routes as necessary for optimal delivery times.

Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of your vehicle, ensuring it remains presentable and operational at all times.

Desired Candidate Profile

A high school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or transportation is a plus.

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in heavy-duty driving, ideally within the freight or logistics sector.

A valid heavy vehicle driver's license and a clean driving record with no major violations.

Familiarity with GPS systems and mapping software to navigate efficiently and effectively.

The ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.

Strong communication skills, fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are a bonus.

A proven track record of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism in a driving capacity.
