Overview

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. Matchday Live is an innovative sports broadcasting project that provides students with hands-on experience in live sports broadcasting. The project offers an immersive learning environment where students can develop technical, journalistic, and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Tasks
    • Contacting home and visiting teams to gather necessary information.
    • Organising and managing YouTube links for broadcasts.
    • Entering players, positions, numbers, coaches' names, referees' names, and notable information into the Ligr.Live system.
    • Collecting and inputting previous match results, scorers, and form players' data.
  • Marketing and Social Media
    • Developing and executing a social media posting schedule to promote upcoming matches.
    • Creating engaging content for social media platforms.
    • Collaborating with the MMU Sport marketing team to enhance the visibility of Matchday Live.
  • General Support
    • Coordinating with the technical team to ensure all broadcast equipment and systems are ready.
    • Assisting with the setup and breakdown of broadcasting equipment on match days.
    • Providing general support to ensure smooth operation of Matchday Live broadcasts.

Qualifications

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Interest in sports and broadcasting is desirable.
  • Proficiency in digital media tools such as Canva and Photoshop.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with photo editing and creating visual content.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
