We are in search of a detail-oriented and highly skilled Planning Engineer to join our headquarters team in Umm Al Quwain, UAE. .
Position: PLANNING ENGINEER
Job Description:
· We are currently looking for a qualified and proactive Planning Engineer with strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, and controls to join our dynamic team in the UAE. The ideal candidate must hold a NICMAR degree and PMP certification, with proven experience in handling planning and scheduling functions. Previous experience in the construction industry will be an advantage to you.
Responsibilities:
· Develop, monitor, and update project schedules in line with contractual requirements.
· Prepare baseline programs, recovery schedules, and progress updates using industry-standard planning software (Primavera P6/MS Project).
· Planned vs. As-Built, Window Analysis, etc.) to determine project impacts.
· Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure timely progress and resource allocation.
· Support contract, commercial, and legal teams with planning inputs during claims and dispute resolution.
· Conduct delay analysis and provide mitigation strategies to ensure project deadlines are achieved.
· Review subcontractor schedules and integrate them into the overall project plan.
· Generate periodic progress reports (daily, weekly, monthly) highlighting critical activities, risks, and resource utilization.
· Support tendering department with planning inputs, project durations, and methodologies.
· Provide management with accurate forecasting and project performance evaluations.
· Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and safety standards.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
· NICMAR qualification and PMP certification are mandatory.
· 5–7 years of proven experience as a Planning Engineer in UAE construction industry.
· Strong command of Primavera P6 and MS Project.
· Knowledge of FIDIC contracts including claims, variations, and Extension of Time (EOT) procedures.
· Proven ability to perform delay analysis using recognized techniques (Time Impact Analysis, Window Analysis, As-Planned vs. As-Built, etc.).
· Ability to interpret contract clauses and align project schedules with contractual obligations.
· Knowledge of UAE construction laws and contractual practices is an advantage.
· Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines.
