Job Description:

The Quantity Surveyor specializing in steel structures plays a pivotal role in the construction and engineering industries, ensuring that building projects are completed within the projected budget. Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all phases of costs related to steel structural projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure project efficiency.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor actual project cost against estimates.
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Provide financial advice and forecasts for cost-effective project decisions.
  • Measure and value the work done on site and prepare client valuations.
  • Advise on procurement strategies and resolve any financial disputes.
  • Assess and evaluate potential project risks and strategies for mitigation.
  • Ensure that all legal requirements, regulations, and standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on steel structures.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, costs, and time requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in cost estimating software and construction management tools.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Understanding of relevant legal regulations and industry standards.
