Job Description:

Position Summary:
We are urgently seeking a Senior Accountant with experience in the construction industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role requires strong attention to detail, hands-on experience with construction accounting processes, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle day-to-day general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
  • Monitor project-related costs, verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and contracts.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
  • Coordinate with procurement, project, and site teams to ensure accurate cost allocations.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation for all transactions.
  • Liaise with banks, vendors, and clients regarding payments and collections.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry in the UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of VAT regulations in the UAE is a plus.
