This full-stack role spans system engineering and data infrastructure with a focus on performance, scalability and reliability.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities of Senior Data Engineer (Market Data, Python)</strong></p><ul><li>Design and implement systems using Python with a focus on performance and scalability</li><li>Maintain high development standards including testing, CI/CD, and clean architecture</li><li>Enhance and support legacy systems (e.g., microservices, ETL pipelines, Excel add-ins)</li><li>Improve infrastructure via IaC, disaster recovery, and observability (logs, alerts, monitoring)</li><li>Manage Windows/Linux servers and databases (backups, replication, troubleshooting)</li><li>Provide technical support, monitor system health, and respond to user queries</li><li>Understand and optimize the medallion data architecture for ingestion, processing, and storage</li><li>Contribute to external data acquisition and integration into the market data platform</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements of Senior Data Engineer (Market Data, Python)</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of software development experience, ideally in data-intensive or distributed systems</li><li>Strong hands-on proficiency in Python development; experience with relational, NoSQL, and columnar databases</li><li>Familiarity with DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code, and system monitoring</li><li>Comfortable managing Linux/Windows servers and handling backups, replication, and troubleshooting</li><li>Able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-project environment</li><li>Interest or experience in financial/market data and data engineering is a plus</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Selby Jennings is a Trading Style of Phaidon International (License number R1871443)</p>
