Overview:
We are looking for a well experienced Project Leader with strong Project Management expertise to join our company. This role is ideal for an ambitious and driven individual who will take full ownership of projects from sales handover to customer completion. This is a customer focused position with client interaction and regular visit clients at various Site locations. The Project Lead will take commercial responsibility for projects and maintain the high level of customer service the company is known for. The team lead should be proactive, self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple projects, and work well both independently and in a team. Initiative, responsibility, and a strong desire to contribute to overall business success are essential. The position is for a skilled Project leader proficient in Oil and Gas projects execution. The candidate and must have sound skills and knowledge in project Management, engineering, manging design, and coordination with multiple stakeholders. The engineer must be proficient in delivering project engineering, documentation required for EPC and Oil & Gas customers. Ability to coordinate between different vendors, OEM and design, production team for delivery of the project is required. Must have good experience in the Electrical, EPC, Oil and Gas field and lead a team of engineers. Responsible for delivering project engineering and coordination of medium to High complexity projects with a team. The role will be based on Birkat Al Awamir and visit to multiple site and project areas across Qatar
Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities
Carry out Handover Meetings for sales for all projects and review project requirements
Will be the customer's main contact, post order
Manage the project commercials including sales cost, material costs, labour costs and gross margin
Review Consultant Electrical Specifications, Drawings, Schematics and Layouts
Coordinate requirements with engineering with regular reviews and raise/manage customer RFI, technical submittal, drawing approvals and customer changes
Coordinate requirements with production with regular reviews on project progress, deadlines, witness testing, deliveries and site works
Identify project changes and variations and work with sales to manage costs
Coordinate with project Finance to manage project invoice
Attend regular site meetings with customers for project planning, progress and site surveys
Continuous and prompt customer project correspondence
Develop Customer Relationships
Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, clients, and contractors
Risk management, Cost control and Procurement coordination
Support the project team to manage and complete job processes
Manage Project Sub-Contractors
Attend FAT and OEM witness testing.
Ensure all work comply with company and customer site Health and Safety procedures and standards
Ensure Project Documentation is complete, issued to customers as required and follows company processes and procedures
Prepare regular reports on project status, including progress, issues, and upcoming milestones, for presentation to project stakeholders
Prepare and Issue weekly updates to management team
Prepare and Issue Monthly project report to management team
QHSE policy adherence and implementation across projects
Education & Certification:
PMP in Project Management is Mandatory
Electrical engineering knowledge in Switchgear industry is required
Advance MS office tools- Reporting, presentations skills are required
Knowledge of Scheduling Tools - Primavera, MS Projects
Process mapping skills and MS VISIO
Additional Qualifications
ERP and Project Management Tools - PMIS. PMMT tools
Collaboration Tools (e.g., BIM 360, MS Teams, SharePoint)
Skills & Competencies
Good communication (Verbal & Written) & interpersonal skills
Able to demonstrate relevant work experience and a strong track record in multi-activity project management in Construction or Engineering
Strong project management skills, with a focus on planning, coordination, and execution
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with all parties
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work seamlessly within a multidisciplinary project team
Health & Safety Experience / Qualification
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
Relevant experience in project engineering
Minimum 10-12 years of work experience Electrical SWG Preferably in Oil and Gas and EPC experience preferred
Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, documentation, and communication
