Job Role: Torchman - Waterproofing Systems (Full-Time)
Position Summary:
We are hiring a skilled
Torchman
for full-time work in waterproofing system installations. The role involves applying torch-on (bituminous) membrane waterproofing materials to roofs, terraces, basements, and other surfaces using gas torches. The ideal candidate should have experience with waterproofing applications and strict adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply torch-on waterproofing membranes using propane/gas torch equipment. Prepare surfaces by cleaning and priming prior to membrane installation. Overlap and seal membrane sheets to ensure complete water resistance. Identify and repair damaged membrane sections. Follow project specifications, safety protocols, and fire prevention measures. Coordinate with waterproofing technicians and site supervisors. Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
Requirements:
Proven experience in torch-on membrane waterproofing systems. Understanding of safe handling of torches and gas cylinders. Familiarity with insulation and vapor barrier layers (preferred). Physically fit and able to work in hot or outdoor conditions.
