Job responsibilities

  • Integrate front-end elements with server-side logic and functionalities
  • Optimize the platform for faster execution and solve scalability issues
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, testers, QA leads, and project managers to ensure the robustness of deliverables
  • Participate in creating high-quality, scalable, robust, and reusable code
  • Design and develop application back-end with clean coding standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with the design team to run UI tests and optimize applications for improved and scalable performance

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of back-end development experience (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Fluency in working with multiple back-end programming languages like Java, Python, PHP, .NET, Ruby, Golang, etc.
  • In-depth understanding of web development best practices, programming techniques, and tools
  • Proficient with both relational and non-relational databases, like MS SQL Server, Oracle Database, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, etc.
  • Strong experience in database integration, data migration, transformation, and scripting
  • Sound knowledge of third-party libraries and APIs
  • Fluent in English to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Well-versed with front-end technologies and platforms including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js. etc.
  • Understanding of accessibility and security compliance
  • Knowledge of server-side CSS preprocessors, like LESS and SASS
  • Basic understanding of CMS framework
  • Familiarity with automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
