The School of Architecture, Art, and Design at the American University in Dubai (AUD) invites applications for a full-time faculty position for an Assistant Professor of Architecture or Associate Professor of Architecture to begin teaching in Fall 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for an academic architect to join a leading university in Dubai, UAE.
Job Description:The successful candidate will teach a combination of architecture studio courses and lecture-based subjects within a comprehensive architecture curriculum. Responsibilities also include student advising, curriculum development, and maintaining a record of professional scholarship.
Qualifications & Requirements:
A Master’s Degree in Architecture or a Ph.D. in Architecture from a Western-accredited institution is required.
Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse, international student and faculty body.
Significant professional experience in architecture and/or previous college-level teaching experience.
Strong digital literacy and proficiency in common architecture software.
Demonstrated ability to teach both design studios and theory/lecture courses.
Required Areas of Expertise:Candidates must have expertise in one or more of the following specializations:
Digital Design & Technology: Digital Fabrication, Parametric Design, BIM (Building Information Modeling) and Virtual Reality (VR), Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) in Architecture and Urban Design, Digital Twins, G.I.S. (Certified instructors are preferred).
Integrative Design & Building Systems: Building Assemblies and Envelope Systems, Structural Systems, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), Materials and Methods of Construction, Sustainability and Environmental Systems.
Professional Practice & Management: Professional Practice, Entrepreneurship & Ethics, Life Safety & Building Codes, Construction Management and Building Economics.
Foundation-level Architecture Courses.
