Principal (Primary Phase: EYFS – Year 6)

About the Role
We are seeking an inspirational and experienced Principal to provide strategic leadership and direction for our Primary phase (EYFS through Year 6) at a progressive, inclusive international school in Dubai. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven record of effective school leadership, curriculum innovation, and a commitment to securing the highest standards of teaching, learning, and pupil welfare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for the academic, pastoral, and operational development of the school.
  • Ensure that all school initiatives are fully aligned with regulatory frameworks, inspection standards, and the school’s strategic vision.
  • Lead, support, and appraise teaching and support staff, promoting excellence in professional practice and continuous professional development.
  • Oversee the implementation of the British curriculum (EYFS and Key Stages 1 & 2), ensuring breadth, balance, and innovation in teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Promote and embed inclusive practices, ensuring that pupils with additional needs are fully supported to achieve their potential.
  • Foster a strong sense of community, developing positive relationships with pupils, parents, governors, and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the school confidently through inspection and accreditation processes (KHDA, BSO, NEASC, etc.), ensuring compliance and excellence.
  • Take responsibility for strategic planning, resource allocation, recruitment, and the effective use of data to drive school improvement.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • A Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Eligibility for KHDA approval as a Principal/Headteacher.
  • A minimum of five years’ successful experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within the UAE or an international context.
  • A deep knowledge of the British curriculum (EYFS/Key Stages) and a strong grasp of contemporary pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (IELTS Band 7+ or equivalent, as required by KHDA).

Desirable:

  • Experience of leading successful school inspections (KHDA, BSO, or equivalent).
  • Expertise in inclusive education and staff development.
  • Strong understanding of EdTech, AI integration, and digital learning.
  • A visible, confident leadership presence, with cultural awareness and the ability to build positive relationships across diverse communities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED20,000.00 - AED25,000.00 per month

License/Certification:

  • QTS (Preferred)
  • TLS (Preferred)
